Through
an unfortunate series of events, I was suddenly without
a place to store a lifetime of belongings. My only option
was to take over the front room in my private massage
studio. It went from a beautiful treatment room to a floor
to ceiling storage unit, just
about over night!
Among
those items was my sewing machine and stacks of designer
fabric and trims that I'd carted around since I was in
massage school, when I worked part time sewing draperies
with a very talented designer.
After
moping and whining about it a bit, I realized I had everything
I needed to make my ideal bag. I'm always carrying around
a purse that doesn't quite fit my needs and a tote bag
for the pile of magazines and papers I'm dragging around
with me.
I
made one for myself, and, looking at the pile of fabric
scraps and trims that I'd saved from being landfill fodder,
I decided to keep going. So... (or should I say... sew?)
you could say that I decided to make lemonade. Or, rather,
BAGS!
My
lemonade stand was born! My goal is to sew my way out
of fabric and reclaim my massage room!
